Why is there not a four way stop?

Matt, I can't say why the stop signs at these intersections were installed the way they were, but I know from experience that adding or removing a stop sign is very difficult and requires a warrant, so the city would be less likely to follow through on a request like that. However, a "cross traffic does not stop" sign is very easy to install, and would at least give people on Genoa a heads up and reduce the chance of collisions.

City of Oakland Public Works Agency addressed this issue on 08/14/2012, service request # 396979.

I was contacted by city staff who explained that it is not their policy to install legal "cross traffic does not stop" signs, although Berkeley does this consistently on bikeways with no negative effect on traffic safety.

Since I am still getting regularly cut off at these intersections and Oakland's response to the issue is to do nothing then I am considering it unresolved and reopening the report.
