The taxes in Parkesburg are not proportionate to the value of the homes. These taxes have to be lowered or you are going to see a town that is more depressed and peppered with foreclosures and short-sale signs. Take a look at First Avenue; there is a whole block that is vacant and for sale with no activity with buckled sidewalks that are is disrepair. Perhaps it's time to appeal the taxes. I think we have enough government buildings and school stadiums from our tax dollars.
