There's a long dark tunnel with mud here, and you emerge to an immediate big step up to the wooden ramp that ascends under the RR track... asphalt ramp/patch has big chunk missing near the center. When you come out of the dark you can't see this, even moving slowly on my bike it tossed me into the air and I nearly crashed.

Here's a bad picture with a wheel - it's much worse than this appears. Hope you can get this repaired quickly, it doesn't look like it would be much work.
(And in the long run we need a better solution than a temporary asphalt ramp here)

Holy cow, it's still out here. I follow a lot of these issues and rarely see any of the additional updates promising in the stock reply. Sadly, that's a great way to discourage people from using these systems and it makes the city look impersonal and ineffectual - exactly the opposite of how most people I know working for Raleigh are!
The Walnut Creek greenway is sad. Sharp turns, dark tunnels, mud. It can be so much better. Would love to take some of our city councilfolks and parks managers for a ride on some of our greenways to discuss issues that could be easily improved. There is no perfect, but we can aim for continual improvement.
