Why are there so many accidents at Griffin and McKinley? Is the timing off on the lights? Are people running red lights? It does take quite a while to get through all of the intersections on McKinley from Mt Humphries to the 91 and I do see people running red lights every day. Can these intersections be photo enforced? Please increase patrolling in the very busy area of Corona. Thank you.

Thank you for engaging with the City of Corona via See Click Fix. Your traffic request has been received and forwarded to a Traffic Bureau team member to monitor and address. Our goal is to assist in addressing your request as soon as resources allow. Is there a specific time frame of when you notice these violations occurring most? We would like to direct our enforcement efforts to where they would be most effective.
If you have additional questions or would like to speak to a member of our team, we’d love to hear from you! You can contact our Traffic Division directly at (951) 736-2330, option #2. For future concerns or requests, you may also call our non-emergency phone number at 951-736-2330 option #3. If this is an emergency, please do not report on SCF, instead call 911. Thanks again for helping us keep our streets and City safe.

People are speeding and drive like maniacs! I've called the city and I've complained plenty on see click fix, and get the same response that the area will be monitored.
As Vanden Akker's said it's gotten worse, this area is truly awful. The city knows it and the city needs to send out the motors to seriously get crack'n. Not just for a few minutes once in a while as that's NOT working.

Thank you for reaching out to Corona Traffic Engineering (and Corona PD Traffic Enforcement). Traffic Engineering can answer some of these questions and will refer the remainder to corona PD's response.
Regarding signal timing:
Right now traffic patterns are very different than they were pre-pandemic. There used to be defined AM, Mid-Day, and PM peak traffic that could be observed and the signal timing set to optimize for these flows. Currently, traffic patterns are shifting day to day, and a 1-3 day traffic study is inadequate to account for these variations. Traffic Engineering will update the signal timing when traffic patterns stabilize.
Regarding photo enforcement:
It is my understanding that the City employed red-light cameras in the past. They were eventually removed because of public perception\complaints and questionable effectiveness in reducing red-light running.
If you have any further questions, please contact us at (951) 736-2266. We appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention.

There are some new laws in effect this year such as "Slow Streets" Assembly Bill 773 and "Speed Limits" Assembly Bill 43. You can search and find details about the new laws at leginfo.legisature.ca.gov
I hope more residents take the time to contact the city about the traffic crisis in our neighborhood BEFORE someone is injured or killed.
