About an hour ago I was in the store that I work at and heard a big crash. It was a biker who was hit crossing 6th and Rose. This intersection is one I cross almost everyday because I work and live on this street. I myself absolutely hate crossing the street because I feel like people couldn't give a time of day whether someone needs to cross. Their too busy and that's when people get hit. This is a busy street just becoming busier. I think a flashing pedestrian sign or at least a sign needs to be put up. Who would need to be addressed to put this request in?

I am saddened to hear about this, but frankly surprised there have not been a slew of injuries (or deaths) owing to this more or less unregulated stretch of No Man's Land By The Sea.
I posted about this a couple of years ago -- https://seeclickfix.com/issues/215177-jaywalkers-on-rose-avenue?s=nearby -- and nothing happened.
I used to live right around the corner from this incident, and our neighborhood and block associations tried separately and on a unified front to get some decent signage in the area, especially when the proliferation of bourgie eateries, etcetera were rubber-stamped through zoning regulations with seeming disregard to already f'd up parking and traffic situations.
No dice.
There have been a slew of pass-the-buck excuses, starting with the need for some "official" bike path feasibility study, blah-blah-blah. Perhaps the bike rider's hospital bill will be enough of a study?
Point of fact: idiots driving, on bikes, and afoot, behaving is one another don't exist, buried in or on smartphones, drunk, whatever = recipe for locally-grown disaster.
Again: horrible to hear about this incident, but what kind of statistics will it take to get some kind of regulatory signage that addresses this mess?
I miss my pals and certain aspects of the 'hood, but not living in the part of Los Angeles that so easily slips government officials' priority lists.
