“Burning tar, asphalt or rubber” is a good description of the odor I reported last night at 7:43. I couldn’t figure out how to describe it yesterday, but burning tar or asphalt definitely describes the smell. I’ll note also that the City of East Point has reported on several of these SeeClickFix submissions that the city’s personnel contacted GA Environmental Protection Division (GA EPD)to report the issues. However none of these complaints are showing up on GA EPD’s public complaint portal which should list all complaints made. It’s problematic that the city’s complaints are not showing up. I’m wondering how many complaints from residents to the GA EPD are not being officially logged.

This has been proven to cause skin cancer!! What is going on East Point!!!??? You have three companies near major residential neighborhoods and TRI CITY high school where children are at risk.. this has got to stop..

This is the smell that woke me in the middle of the night- I could barely breathe inside my house.. this along with paint fumes on a daily!!

The city of East Point is clearly unable to check on these smells at 1am or any evening after hours. Please tell us how you are able to send fire department or other city departments to check smells over night when they are occurring?

Call the non-emergency number and explain the situation when it happens, and the fire department will show at any time of the night.

I was informed by the FD they can’t do anything about it..

FD just showed up at my house.. why? This was in the middle of the night and the morning. Very confused

Don’t get me wrong I appreciate the effort. However it’s not in the air right now. I’ll call y’all at 1am
